Vitamins and minerals are essential nutrients your body needs in order to function and stay healthy. Although only needed in small doses, it can sometimes be difficult to get your daily intake when living a busy, on-the-go lifestyle.

As well as handy supplements like Vitamin C and Vitamin D3, you can also make delicious recipes to get your daily dose of goodness. Here at fourfive, we’ve put together a little guide below on the benefits of vitamin water, from what it is, to flavourful recipes you can make at home.

What Is Vitamin Water?

Vitamin water is a refreshing beverage made up of only two ingredients; water and fresh fruit. Perfect for those days when you need to get your nutrients early, or just want a healthy switch up from normal water.

Is Vitamin Water Good For You?

Homemade vitamin water is good for you, whereas ready-made vitamin water is only healthy if it contains natural ingredients and is free from refined sugars.

In recent years, the health benefits of vitamin water have been in question due to more commercial brand’s releasing their own take on the ‘health’ drink, which has come under scrutiny for being full of as much sugar and artificial preservatives as a fizzy drink. Making your own at home means you can control exactly what you’re putting in and stay hydrated, while customising it to suit your own tastes!

What Are The Benefits Of Homemade Vitamin Water?

There are plenty of benefits that come with drinking homemade vitamin water. Some of which include:

  • Getting an extra boost of vitamins to help you stay fit and healthy
  • Allowing you use up fruit that may otherwise have gone to waste
  • Encouraging you to consume your daily water intake and stay hydrated
  • Helping you to avoid some of the sugary, fad vitamin waters on the market, so you can save money and stay healthy too.
