Love Islander Aaron Simpson Partners with fourfive, On ACL Recovery

July 10, 2024

We are delighted to announce that Love Islander, Aaron Simpson, has announced his new partnership with fourfive.

Aaron Simpson, a Love Island 2021 alumnus and professional football player whose career has seen him play for clubs including Kilmarnock, Dover Athletic and Sutton United, has shared the news of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury from February and how he’s on the road to recovery.

Speaking of the partnership with fourfive Aaron said:

“I’ve been trying to prioritise what goes into my body to help with my ACL recovery. Teaming up with fourfive is allowing me to not only have access to premium, high quality products, but I’m also getting to explore the benefits of CBD for my recovery.”

Aaron Simpson

“I’m going to be 100% transparent with the results and hopefully help others in a similar situation, whether that be ACL recovery or any type of exercise recovery. I’m excited to work with fourfive going forward.”

The ACL is a tough band of tissue that joins the thigh bone to the shin bone at the knee joint. It runs diagonally through the inside of the knee and gives the knee joint stability. It also helps to control the back-and-forth movement of the lower leg.

Common causes of ACL injuries include landing incorrectly from a jump, stopping suddenly, changing direction suddenly or having a collision, such as during a football tackle.

Speaking about how CBD supports injury and recovery, clinical neuroscientist, Dr Elisabeth Philipps said: “The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a network of receptors throughout the body that controls a surprisingly wide array of functions. The ECS is why CBD can have such a constellation of effects on the human body. CBD joint gels and muscle rubs are often designed to activate ECS receptors both on and under the skin, meaning they can be great for sore or achy muscles and joints.”

fourfive co-founders, Dom Day and George Kruis, say the team are delighted to have Aaron on board:

“Aaron’s journey to recovery fits perfectly with fourfive, our aim is to help people maintain an active lifestyle and o be their fittest selves, it’s at the heart of everything we do.”

George Kruis

“Having a sporting background ourselves, we understand the frustration felt when recovering from injury and seeing Aaron so open to trying out CBD in his own personal experience will hopefully help inspire others to try new holistic approaches to recovery.”
